Our Approach to Education

Core Principles That Guide Our Work

We know how to instill in our members the knowledge, skills, and disposition that makes them the best leader for today and into their future. The NSHCR offers leadership education that focuses on inspiring members to think critically, develop a core purpose, build resiliency, and collaborate with empathy to make a global impact.

Experiential

Our programs help members become comfortable facing challenges and achieving desired outcomes.

Inclusive

Our program structure allows for a widely diverse population to succeed. Our platform offers learning experiences in a variety of different scenarios and approaches to engage members of all backgrounds.

Reflection

Practice with self-reflection is the best way for leaders to evolve. When applied, individuals, organizations, and communities can change or adapt to new ways of leadership thinking.

Community-Building

A community mindset promotes perspective and accountability. Together, we achieve more than we do alone.

Our Formula for Success

Each of our programs provides a curriculum framework that is broad, balanced, conceptual, and connected. All of our programs require the completion of culminating projects or activities that showcase higher-order learning and rigor. We nurture a diverse community of members through leadership education, hands-on experiences, a range of skill-building activities, and a program that builds on their development.
